‘Game of Thrones’ actor passes away, Ian Gelder was suffering from cancer, breathed his last at the age of 74

New Delhi: British actor Ian Gelder, who gained popularity with the role of Kevan Lannister in ‘Game of Thrones’, has passed away. He was suffering from bile duct cancer for the last five months. He breathed his last at the age of 74. Ian Gelder’s partner Ben Daniels confirmed his death through an Instagram post on Tuesday.

According to Variety.com’s report, Daniels wrote, ‘It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of Ian Gelder. Ian was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December and died on Monday. I had stopped all work to take care of him, but none of us had any idea that he would leave us so soon.

Earned name worldwide due to acting
Kevan Lannister played the younger brother of Lord Tywin Lannister, played by Charles Dance, in 12 episodes of the series. He also worked in many TV series, including ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Snatch’, ‘Fifteen-Love’, ‘Casualty’, ‘Edward the King’, ‘I Thought You’re Gone’ and ‘His Dark Materials’. Other projects are included. He became famous all over the world due to his acting.

Apart from films and TV shows, Ian Gelder also worked in theatre. He had worked in many memorable films in his long career. He got recognition from the 1978 film ‘The Three Kisses’. Before films, he started working in TV shows. He was last seen in the TV show ‘Father Brown’. The actor breathed his last on 6 May 2024.
