Recently Shamita Shetty revealed about her illness on social media. According to this, Shamita is suffering from a disease called endometriosis due to which she is admitted in the hospital. He has also undergone surgery.
Information about the disease given on social media
The actress made a video from the hospital in which she tried to make every woman aware. While sharing the video, the actress wrote in the post – ‘Do you know that about 40% of women are suffering from endometriosis and most of us are unaware of this disease. I would like to thank both my doctors, Dr. Neeta Varty and GP Dr. Sunita Banerjee, for not stopping until they found the root cause of my pain. Now that my disease has been removed through surgery, I am hoping to recover soon.

Sumona Chakraborty, Shruti Haasan, Celina Jaitley have also endured this pain.
A few years ago, Sumona Chakraborty of ‘The Kapil Sharma’ show had said in a social media post that she was suffering from endometriosis since 2011. In the year 2021, the actress had talked about this in detail in an Instagram post.
Actress Celina Jaitley has also suffered from this disease. Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti Haasan revealed about the disease to her fans by sharing a post on social media in June 2022.
What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a problem of the uterus. The lining of the uterus is called endometrium. When the growth of the tissues lining the uterus becomes abnormal, these tissues start spreading outside the uterus.
Sometimes this lining of endometrium spreads to other reproductive organs including ovaries, pelvis, bowl etc. In such a situation the problem of endometriosis arises.
