Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan’s childhood was spent seeing struggle. Actually, her father Kamran Khan was first a stuntman and later became a producer. He invested money in many films which flopped and he became bankrupt. Due to this the family had to face financial crisis.
Farah Khan has talked about this condition of the family in a recent interview. She said that she belongs to a filmy family. But when she was 5 years old, she was the poorest compared to the other children in the family.
Farah is Farhan Akhtar’s cousin
Farah’s mother Meena Irani was the sister of veteran actresses Daisy and Honey Irani. Meena also had a family relationship with writer Javed Akhtar as Honey Irani was his first wife. Thus Farah, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar are cousins.
At the age of 18, he lost his father
In a recent interview to Radio Nasha, Farah said that she and her brother Sajid were the poorest cousins in the entire family. After becoming poor, their father started drinking alcohol. When Farah was 18 years old, her father died, after which the situation worsened further.
Farah says- Yes, I was from a filmy family. But when I was 5 years old, the family had to go through a tough time. Sajid and I were the poorest among all the cousins. We have travelled from riches to rags. Then in this condition, the rest of the family members were helping us. They were very nice. They gave us shelter in their house.
At the time of his death, the father had only 30 rupees in his pocket
Some time ago, Farah had also talked about these days with Manish Paul. She had told that when her father died, he had only 30 rupees in his pocket. Farah had said- he had played cards the night before. At the time of his death, he had only 30 rupees in his pocket which he had won while playing cards.
Salman Khan’s father gave money for the last rites
Farah’s brother Sajid Khan also mentioned this in the Bigg Boss house. He said- the situation was so bad that there was no money even for the last rites of the father. At that time, Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan helped.
