The world’s prestigious 77th Cannes Film Festival has started in France from today i.e. 14th May. Jury members have started arriving. 74 year old American actress Meryl Streep is the guest of honor in this opening ceremony to be held at the Grand Theater Lumiere. She has arrived to participate in this event.
Meryl is seen in Cannes after 35 years. Earlier, she had won the Best Actress Award for the film ‘Evil Angels’ in Cannes in 1989. Then he attended this festival for the last time. Apart from this, director of the film Barbie, Greta Gerwig has also reached the event.

Aditi will walk on the red carpet for the second consecutive time
On the first day, the event is starting with the red carpet event. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Shobhita Dhulipala from the country will participate in this event. A glimpse of Ajay-Tabu’s film will be shown
A glimpse of Ajay Devgan and Tabu starrer upcoming film ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ will also be shown in the India Pavilion of Cannes. The sneak peek of this romantic-musical thriller film will be exclusively showcased at Cannes on 17th May.
This film has been directed by Neeraj Pandey. Its music has been composed by Oscar winning composer MM Keeravani. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on July 5 this year.

9 films selected from India
This year, 9 films from India have been officially selected in Cannes which will run till 25th May. This year, Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia’s film ‘All We Imagine as Light’ will be screened in the prestigious Palme d’Or category of the festival.
The world premiere of the film ‘All We Imagine as Light’ will take place on May 23 in Cannes.
A film from India has been nominated in this category after 30 years. This is the biggest of the festival, as well as one of the most prestigious awards in the film industry.
