Filmmaker Karan Johar filed a case in the Bombay High Court on Wednesday against the makers of the film ‘Shaadi Ke Director Karan Aur Johar’, which is releasing on Friday. Karan wrote in his petition that an attempt has been made to make fun of his name through the title of the film. He requested the Bombay High Court to stop the use of his name in the title of the film.

Karan Johar claimed that he has no connection with the producers of the film. His name has been wrongly used in the title of the film. This is a violation of his personal rights. By taking advantage of his name without his permission, the producers of the film are violating his rights, right to publicity and right to privacy.

The film ‘Shaadi Ke Director Karan Aur Johar’ is directed by Sanjay Singh and Bablu Singh under the banner of India Pride Advisory Private Limited. Karan Johar’s lawyer Parag Khandhar said that the hearing of the case will be held today.

In the petition filed before a bench of Justice RI Chagla, Karan has sought an immediate stay on the release of the film. The petition stressed that the film is scheduled to release on June 14 and its trailer and posters have been made viral in public places and on social media.
