This time in Mirzapur Season 3, the character of Sharad Shukla has come out very well. In the first season, this character had only one scene. In the second season, his screen time increased and in the third season, this character emerged as a hero.

Actor Anjum Sharma, who plays Sharad Shukla in the Mirzapur series, had a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar. He said that I look at the success of the character and the content. When I got the script of the first season, I understood that if Sharad comes into this world, he will emerge as a big player.

How do you see the growth of the character’s graph from the first season till now?

I see the success of a character and content in this. Sharad had a small role in the first season. His screen time increased in the second season. He changed completely in season 3. He wants to bring a new equation in the world of Mirzapur. Then he emerges as a hero in the story.

How were you involved with the first season of the series?

It was the year 2017. A show ‘Inside Edge’ was being made on cricket. I was supposed to work in it, but due to some reason I could not. Later I came to know about Mirzapur. I did not think that I would be selected in the primary cast. Still I gave an audition to casting director Abhishek Banerjee.

15 days before the shooting, I got a call for a small role. I was told that the character would be introduced only in this season. If a second season is made, this character could become bigger.

What was the brief given to you about the character?

I was not given any brief about the character. I knew that Pankaj Tripathi was doing this show. Because of him, I knew that the script was very good. I was already interested in joining this show.

When I got the script and read my scene, I felt that if one scene is so good, how good the whole series will be. I understood that if Sharad comes into this world, he will emerge as a big player.
