Film director Karan Johar approached the Bombay High Court with a petition against the film ‘Shaadi Ke Director Karan Aur Johar’. In his petition, he said that his name has been used wrongly in the film.

Karan Johar, through DSK Legal, filed a case in the Bombay High Court against producer India Pride Advisory and writer-director Bablu Singh along with Sanjay Singh. In the case, Karan claimed that he has no connection with the film and its producers, who are illegally using his name in the title of the film. He said that his name has been directly used in the title of the film, which violates his personality rights, publicity and privacy rights.

Karan also claimed that by misusing his ‘brand name’, the producers are taking advantage of his goodwill and reputation, which is absolutely wrong. Karan said in the suit that the film is going to be released in theaters on June 14 and the trailer and posters of the film have been released publicly and on social media. These trailers and posters have damaged Karan’s image. Therefore, this film, which is to be released on June 14, 2024, should be banned immediately. The bench has approved Karan’s plea and now the petition will be heard today on Thursday (June 13).
