
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik met in Islamabad on Wednesday to discuss ways to boost economic ties between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Embassy of Belarus in Pakistan.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a range of issues, including trade, investment, agriculture, health, science and technology, and tourism.
Sadiq highlighted Pakistan’s conducive policies for investment and said that the country has a lot to offer to Belarusian companies. He also invited Aleinik to visit Pakistan to explore investment opportunities.
Aleinik, on his part, expressed Belarus’ interest in expanding economic cooperation with Pakistan. He said that Belarus has expertise in a number of areas, including bio and medical technologies, geological exploration, mining technology, agricultural equipment, fertilizers, and information and communication technology.
The two sides also agreed to work together to enhance trade and investment between the two countries. They also agreed to hold the next meeting of the Pak-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission in Belarus in the near future.
