After a serious crash at the start, the first MotoE race at the Sachsenring was stopped and restarted with a significantly reduced lap time. MotoE at the Sachsenring – the race film of the first run

Starting line-up: 1. Zaccone, 2. Gutierrez, 3. Spinelli, 4. Garzo, 5. Torres, 6. Granado, 7. Ferrari, 8. Casadei, 9. Tulovic, 10. Zannoni, 11. Finello, 12. Pons, 13. Roccoli, 14. Mantovani, 15. Davies, 16. Manfredi, 17. Pontone, 18. Herrera

Mattia Casadei was already given a long lap before the race because he crashed under the yellow flag in Q2.

Begin: Gutierrez takes the lead, but then goes wide at turn 1. At turn 2, Granado and Pontone crash independently of each other. They are very lucky not to be hit by the riders behind them, but they need medical attention. Race control raises the red flag! This means there is a restart and the race only lasts 5 laps, as the schedule for Moto3 qualifying was tight.

The restart obviously takes place without Pontone and Granado. Oscar Gutierrez is given a double long lap for causing Granado’s crash.

Restart: Gutierrez storms forward, but he has to complete his long lap soon. Hector Garzo is therefore virtually in the lead. Lukas Tulovic falls back to 12th place.

1 round: Before the final corner, Zaccone is able to overtake Garrzo and is now in second place.

2nd round: Gutierrez also made a false start and has therefore accumulated four long laps. He completes the first one and crashes out of the race! Meanwhile, Garzo takes the lead,

3rd round: Lukas Tulovic is able to work his way up to 9th place. The battle for victory is between Garzo and Zaccone. Casadei completes his long lap correctly and falls behind Tulovic.

4th and penultimate round: Nicholas Spinelli is heading towards third place relatively safely, but up front Zaccone has not yet given up on victory.

5th and final round: Matteo Ferrari secures fifth place from Miquel Pons. Lukas Tulovic grabs the next competitor. Nothing changes at the front.

Finish line: Hector Garzo wins this shortened race ahead of Alessandro Zaccone and Nicholas Spinelli. Ferrari, Torres, Pons and Lukas Tulovic follow behind. Kevin Zannoni, Mattia Casadei and Alessio Finello complete the top 10. The last points: 11. Mantovani, 12. Herrera, 13. Roccoli, 14. Davies, 15. Manfredi
