Jorge Martin underlines his top form in MotoGP training at Le Mans. After setting the best time in FP1 in the morning, he took the best time again. Marc Marquez missed a direct entry into Q2 after an early crash and has to compete in a top-class Q1.

The result: Martin was 0.145 seconds faster than Francesco Bagnaia in 1:30.388 minutes and thus set a new lap record. Third place went to Pedro Acosta ahead of Maverick Vinales and Fabio Di Giannantonio. Jack Miller finished sixth, followed by Aleix Espargaro, Franco Morbidelli and Marco Bezzecchi. Fabio Quartararo took the last direct place for Q2 at his home race.

Already in Q1, Enea Bastianini (11th), Marc Marquez (13th), Brad Binder (17th) and Alex Marquez (19th) have to take part.

Falls, defects & incidents: Marc Marquez crashed after just under eight minutes in turn 12. He slipped over the front wheel in the middle of the corner and landed his Ducati in the gravel. Marquez remained uninjured and the damage to the motorcycle was limited. The marshals pushed Marquez the few hundred meters back to his box.

A little later, Brad Binder went down in turn 13. At the end of the session he repeated the fall in exactly the same place. For the KTM driver, after a crash in the first free practice session, these were the second and third falls of the day.

Jack Miller came off the track in turn two and raced through the gravel at high speed towards the following chicane. But he was able to avoid a fall. Franco Morbidelli later did the same.

Enea Bastianini crashed in turn 7 in the last minute of practice.

The weather: There were wonderful, early summer conditions for the MotoGP stars during their training on Friday afternoon. Only a few clouds could be seen over Le Mans, the sun ensured that the outside temperature was 25 degrees and the asphalt was 29 degrees.
