KTM makes a successful start to the MotoGP race Sunday at Le Mans. In the warm-up to the French Grand Prix, two drivers from the Austrian manufacturer, GasGas-Tech3 driver Pedro Acosta and Jack Miller, were ahead.

The result: Acosta was faster than his colleague Miller in 1:31.520 minutes. Third place went to local hero Fabio Quartararo ahead of Marc Marquez and Franco Morbidelli. P6 went to Francesco Bagnaia after his debacle in the sprint.

Alex Marquez, Brad Binder, Marco Bezzecchi and Miguel Oliveira grabbed the remaining places in the top ten. The factory Aprilias with Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales took eleventh and thirteenth place, with Enea Bastianini placing between them. World Cup leader Jorge Martin only finished 16th.

Falls, defects & incidents: Maverick Vinales crashed in Turn 4, the second part of the Dunlop chicane. He slid harmlessly over the front wheel.

The weather: The cloudless sky of the past few days at Le Mans is history. A blanket of clouds hung over the route during the warm-up. It still remained dry, but rain showers are expected in Le Mans in the afternoon. There could be a rain race or a flag-to-flag scenario, which is why all riders practiced motorcycle changes in the warm-up. 18 degrees outside and 22 degrees on the asphalt were measured.
