Although Salman Khan has rejected the films of many makers in his career, but once a blockbuster film was lost from his hands only because of the villain. The name of that movie is ‘Ghajini’. Don’t be surprised. This is absolutely true. AR Murugadoss wanted to cast Salman Khan and not Aamir Khan for ‘Ghajini’, but the film’s villain i.e. Pradeep Rawat spoiled the whole game. There is an inside story behind this which has been revealed years later.

During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Pradeep Rawat revealed that AR Murugadoss wanted to make the film ‘Ghajini’ with Salman Khan but on his request the director had cast Aamir Khan. Pradeep Rawat told, ‘AR Murugadoss told me that the film has to be made in Hindi. You have worked with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. He wanted to make a film with Salman, then I thought in my mind that Salman Khan gets angry very easily and Murugadoss knows neither Hindi nor English. His personality is also nothing special. At that time it was not there at all, but now it is.

Pradeep Rawat suggested Aamir Khan’s name
Pradeep Rawat said, ‘I told Murugadoss that Aamir Khan would be perfect for the role. He is a person of calm nature. Treats everyone very politely. Till date, I have never heard Aamir Khan talking rudely to anyone. Abusing is a step too far. 25 years is not too short to recognize a person. I felt that if Salman Khan is cast for the film, many problems may arise.

Saw the film after 6 months and immediately agreed
He further said, ‘I told Murugadoss that Aamir Khan would be right for the film. I spoke to Aamir Khan. I told him that I have done a film in Tamil, please watch it once. Aamir Khan is noble but very clever. At that time remakes were not that popular in Bollywood. Ghajini was made only because Aamir Bhai could not say no to me. After 6 months, Aamir Khan saw that film and after the interval itself said that I will do this film.

Aamir Khan’s film ‘Ghajini’ was the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie ‘Ghajini’ which was directed by AR Murugadoss. The villain in the film was none other than Pradeep Rawat.

‘Ghajini’ becomes the first Hindi film to earn Rs 100 crore
Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’ was released in the year 2008. This movie created a stir at the box office.
