The film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and the film ‘Satya’ were released in 1998. Manoj Bajpayee played the role of Bhikhu Mhatre in the film ‘Satya’. Manoj’s work in the supporting role was appreciated by the film critics as well as the audience.
At the same time, Salman played a supporting role in the film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. For which he was awarded the Best Actor in Supporting Role Award at Filmfare. But when it was announced that he would be honored with this award instead of Manoj, Salman was very surprised. He said on the stage itself that Manoj is the rightful owner of this award because he has done a wonderful job in ‘Satya’.
The film ‘Satya’ is considered the turning point of Manoj’s career.
The award was being given not to Manoj but to Salman
In an interview given to Pinkvilla, Manoj was asked about the time when both he and Salman were nominated for Best Actor in Supporting Role. Salman was nominated for ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and Manoj was nominated for ‘Satya’.
Manoj said- Many people were present at that time. When Salman’s name was announced for the award winner, all the viewers were disappointed. Everyone stood up and started shouting Bhikhu Mhatre.

Salman had given the award he won to Manoj
Manoj further told how Salman himself had honored him on stage. He said, ‘When Salman came on stage, he showed kindness to me and said – I don’t know why this honor was given to me. Not me but Manoj is the real deserver of this. Then Salman handed over his award to me.
Manoj said that he was very happy to see this. Let us tell you, Manoj had received the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor at Filmfare for ‘Satya’.
The film ‘Bhaiya Ji’ is Manoj’s 100th film.

Manoj Bajpayee’s 100th film ‘Bhaiya Ji’ is going to be released on 24th May. Apoorva Singh Karki is directing the film. The special thing is that Manoj will be seen doing intense action for the first time in this film.
