Motion poster of Scam 2010 released, Sahara India family angry, threatened legal action against makers-actors

New Delhi. Hansal Mehta’s web series ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ gained immense popularity. Its sequel ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’ came which was also highly appreciated. Although Hansal did not direct it. He was its executive producer. Now the motion poster of its third installment ‘Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga’ has been revealed. Hansal himself has directed it. The makers unveiled the motion poster two days ago and told that it will soon be released on Sony Liv.

Sahara India Parivar has expressed objection to this announcement of the makers. The founder of Sahara India Parivar was Subrata Roy. Subrata Roy died in November last year. Sahara India Parivar has targeted the makers of ‘Scam’ web series. The series ‘Scam 2010 – The Subrata Roy Saga’ is based on Tamal Bandyopadhyay’s book ‘Sahara: The Untold Story’.

Sahara India Parivar said in a statement on Saturday, “The makers of ‘Scam’ are making ‘Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga’ for money and cheap popularity. This is their humiliating and highly condemnable act. “The Sahara India family condemns all individuals and parties involved and will protest against their abusive behavior.”

Warning of legal action against the makers and everyone associated with the series

The statement further said, “We will take appropriate legal action against the producer, director and all those involved in relation to the illegal showing of the series. We believe that the dispute between SEBI and Sahara is still pending before the Supreme Court and any attempt to influence the proceedings of this case will amount to contempt of court, moreover such actions will amount to a crime.”

Associating the word scam with Subrata Roy is derogatory: Sahara India Parivar

“Under the guise of the right to free speech and expression, no one can be allowed to undermine the goodwill and reputation of a person who is no longer among us to defend himself,” the statement said. “The use of the word ‘scam’ in the title of the series and associating it with Sahara appears prima facie derogatory, and it lowers the image and reputation of SaharaShree and the Sahara India family.”
