Janhvi Kapoor did not know Karan Johar before her debut, the conversation was limited to hi-hello, she said- ‘He called me for audition…’

New Delhi. Janhvi Kapoor made her Bollywood debut in the year 2018 with the film Dhadak. Like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Ishaan Khattar, Ananya Pandey and many other star kids, it was Karan Johar who brought Janhvi Kapoor into the world of films. After ‘Dhadak’, Janhvi Kapoor worked with Karan Johar in many films and now this pair has come together once again for ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’. This upcoming film of Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao has been produced by Karan Johar. Before the release of this film, Janhvi Kapoor had a special conversation with News18 Showsha and during this time she also praised the filmmaker Karan Johar.

During an interview with News18 show, Janhvi Kapoor said, ‘I don’t know how to describe Karan Johar in the right words. His personality is very good and during ‘Koffee with Karan’, he has amazing energy, but one thing about him that I have felt is that he is really aware of social politics. I have seen him taking a stand on important issues and I also appreciate this thing.’

Praising Karan Johar, the actress further says that the value of a producer can be judged through his films. Janhvi Kapoor said, ‘Alia Bhatt’s character in the film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ shows what Karan thinks about feminism.

We met during ‘Dhadak’
Talking about her bonding with the film producer and director, Janhvi Kapoor said that she had met Karan Johar at many events before signing ‘Dhadak’, but during those events, she only had a hi-hello meeting with Karan. She actually met the filmmaker when she signed ‘Dhadak’.

Used to take tests of dialogues from old movies
According to the actress, during the talks for ‘Dhadak’, she used to go to Karan’s office every week and the assistant director of the film would give her dialogues from films like ‘Kapoor and Sons’ and ‘Jab We Met’. The actress had to memorize those dialogues and give the audition. However, Janhvi Kapoor herself admitted that it was not an audition in the real sense, Karan was just polishing her acting skills.
